Antenna
of the Month June.
A
2 Element Yagi for 15 metres. This
is a follow on from Antenna of the month for May. All
that is needed to construct this antenna is a second dipole element as shown in
the May antenna, with two minor changes. 1.
You do not need an SO 239 socket. 2.
The coil is 6 turns at the same diameter, ie, 1" inside diameter spaced a
1/4" apart. Once
you have constructed the second dipole element, you need to mount the two dipole
elements on a boom, with a separation of 8' 6". Tune
the reflector, ie.the 6 turn coil for approx 5 percent lower in frequency to
that of the driven element. This
antenna will not give a great deal of gain. I would not hazard a guess at the
figure but, it will give some and most importantly it will give you a
directional antenna with a reasonable front to back ratio.
Have
fun and build this simple beam. Good dx. With
thanks to the ARRL Antenna Handbook 1964.
